As pe the sources, the Income-Tax (I-T) Department has recovered approximately Rs.30 crore in cash during their raids on Omaxe Offices. Unaccounted transactions of around Rs. 200 crores were also detected.
The search operations commenced on Monday morning and were carried out at 28 different locations. Till date, the department has recovered Rs 20 crore in raids that started at 7 am on March 14, with Rs 12 crore recovered from the builder's office in Kalkaji. The department has also frozen several accounts and seized ledger accounts belonging to the developer.
Currently, the searches are going on in Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Lucknow, and Indore. Around 250 officers and officials are involved in the search operation. The transactions of last three to four years are being scrutinized by the Income tax team and the statements of those who were present at the premises at the time of search operation are being recorded.
